Executive Vice-President at League Against Cancer / La Liga Contra el Cáncer

Adriana Cora has been a dedicated member of the League Against Cancer / La Liga Contra el Cáncer Board of Directors for many years and has served as Executive Vice President and full-time volunteer since 2004. In this role, she has provided exceptional leadership, contributing significantly to the organization’s growth, stability, and continued success.

Throughout her many years of service, Mrs. Cora has worked closely with the physicians who care for patients at the League’s Medical Center, coordinated volunteer support efforts, and helped guide the organization’s financial direction. Her commitment, organizational skills, and compassion have been instrumental in strengthening the League’s mission and expanding its impact within the community.

Mrs. Cora is also a two-time cancer survivor, a personal journey that deepens her dedication and empathy toward the patients and families served by the League Against Cancer.

It is truly an honor and privilege for the League Against Cancer to have Adriana Cora as its Executive Vice President—an individual whose leadership, integrity, and human warmth embody the values and mission of the organization.

Personal Background

• Born in Havana, Cuba, on March 5, 1941
• Completed high school and a two-year college degree in Design in Cuba
• Arrived in the United States as a Cuban refugee in January 1961
• Married to Ricardo Cora
• Proud mother of a son and a daughter, and grandmother of two grandchildren

Professional & Community Involvement

• Worked for many years in the real estate industry
• Vice President of the Board of Directors of Ballet Concerto, contributing to bringing world-class ballet dancers to the United States
• Docent Emeritus at the Vizcaya Museum for over 10 years
• Member of the Miami Rowing Club and was a participant in the sport
• Participated in ballet training under renowned teacher Mrs. Martha Mahr
• Began her service with the League Against Cancer as a volunteer and was later appointed Executive Vice President, a role she continues to serve with dedication and passion
