Gloria Ordaz is a seven-time Suncoast Regional Emmy® Award-winning journalist, co-anchor of Telemundo 51/WSCV’s Noticiero (Newscast) at 12 PM, 5 PM, and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. She also hosts the program “Encuentro Virtual con Gloria Ordaz,” which airs at 8:00 PM every Wednesday on Telemundo 51’s digital platforms and on Telemundo Florida’s streaming platforms on ROKU and Samsung TV.
Gloria began her broadcast journalism career in South Florida in 2003 at América Tevé. In 2006, she was hired as a news reporter at Univision 23/WLTV, and a year later was promoted to weekend news anchor. She also served as anchor of the 11 PM newscast on Univision 23 until April 2017. That same year, 2017, she was hired by Telemundo 51 to co-anchor the 5 PM and 5:30 PM newscasts.
Ordaz was born in Cuba and moved to South Florida in 1998. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism from Florida International University and a certificate in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami. She also earned a certificate in leadership and influence from the prestigious Smith College Executive Education for Women.
Philanthropic Work: Gloria has actively supported St. Jude Research Hospital for over a decade and is currently a member of the organizing committee of the annual “Angels & Stars” gala benefiting St. Jude Hospital.
Gloria’s mother is a breast cancer survivor. Her mother had a double mastectomy in 2019.
Personal Life: Gloria is married and has two sons, Sebastian and Diego.
